Core Process Psychotherapy

I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing light of your own being –Hafiz-

Often we feel the longing to live and love fully, to move forward into life with calm and courage and to get rid of those uncomfortable feelings that drain our confidence and destroy the quality of our relationships. Sometimes we make resolutions that we will stop this or that behavior which we recognize as self-defeating and yet the power of our behavior exerts its own control.

Psychotherapy recognizes that often we are acting unconsciously from the hurts of our past experiences and relationships – going back to earliest childhood; this obscures us from realizing that we can re-evaluate our self-image and find a more balanced and compassionate belief in ourselves.

Experience has shown me that it can be the simplest of notions that we secret away in our deepest thoughts or embed in the tensions of our bodies, which when open to the light of psychotherapy process, can be released in a way that is truly transformative. Ironically, looking at the knots and fears, anger and sadness, hurts and disappointments that we harbor, is usually the way that leads us to seeing where joy and hope are possible.

Seeking the support of a Counselor or Psychotherapist helps us to look at our difficulties and suffering with a balanced view. The psychotherapy relationship is unique in the way that it allows us to explore the layers of our experience with someone who is open, and highly attuned to the nuances of personal suffering. In Core Process Psychotherapy, it is the mindfulness in relationship which allows such deep re-evaluation of experience. Core Process Psychotherapy draws from a combination of ancient and modern wisdom to explore the causes of our suffering.

Psychotherapy recognizes that whilst we can’t change our world, we can change the way that we see the world by developing a more flexible and creative view of ourselves.
